goals for 2014

happy new year!!

we've welcomed our little munchkin into the world -- and i'm in a totally polar opposite frame of mind than last year. last january was about organizing and participating in apartment therapy's january cure (you can read about my progress here, here, here, and here).

this january we're all about survival.

...but one thing i did find extremely useful last year was making a list of home improvement-related goals for 2013. it helped us focus our energies on projects we felt added value to our house or just plain made us happier.

so i took a half-hour or so and made a list of goals for 2014.

some of the highlights include:
completing our powder room mini-makeover...

...reworking the front room around the west elm ainslie sofa...

...and redecorating the dining room around our new table:

what big projects do you have slated for the new year??

  1. Haha. I got a kick out of the survival comment. Looking forward to seeing you complete some of these goals. It would take me more than a half-hour to write out mine! My head is exploding with things I want to do with this house; new kitchen counter tops, finally get cushions for our two window seats, new kitchen table, makeover 1 powder room and two bathrooms, finally do something with our guest room......the list goes on and on!

    1. yes, you are still all too familiar with the survival stage, aren't you? haha! it seems intimidating to write out the list at first, but really helps organize the thoughts -- you should try it! :)
