DIY: origami numbers

<<< you can see a full list of my diy projects here! >>>

time : minutes
difficulty  ★ ☆ ☆ ☆
hazards : paper cuts!
would i do it again? : yep

i loved this colorful origami numbers at bloesem kids from the moment i first set eyes on it:
i first saw it months and months ago and, in fact, i think i made my own version the very next day. for some reason, i didn't photograph it and -- like many posts before it -- it fell to the blogging backburner. i'm writing about it now because i still love it, all these months later...and it's such an easy project, you could start now and be done within the hour.

i have this pack of origami paper from amazon (not an affiliate link). i love the variety of colors, including metallics, though you do only get one sheet of each hue.
you could probably find a nice variety pack at a crafts or paper specialty store as well.

as for the folding, i found the diagram instructions from origami club extremely easy to follow. they have instructions not only numbers, but also for animals, flowers, holiday, etc.

it took me just a few minutes to fold each number. i used double-stick tape to adhere them to a paper backing (i used heavier weight watercolor paper as that's what i had on hand. any paper would do.).
then, i placed the whole shebang in a thrifted wood frame and mounted in K's room with -- what else? -- 3m command strips.

it's at K's level, under his loft bed.

that's all there is to it!
