i was browsing through my favorites on etsy last week and i re-stumbled upon an absolute gem: gypsya. the shop is stocked with a colorful array of household linens with unique and vibrant patterns -- right up my alley! i favorite etsy shops for a reason -- i need to be more diligent about using them as a resource...
she also carries pillows, rugs, and vintage blankets.
while browsing through the selection, i spotted this blanket:
...and fell head over heels in love.
see, a couple of months ago, i took the heavy down comforter off our bed and i've been looking for a lightweight summer blanket to replace it. i wanted something unique, kind of bohemian-feeling.
this blanket was exactly what i'd been pining for.
i ordered it without hesitation.
it came in the mail yesterday and it's perfect.
...yet still jives with the joss&main rug on fish's side of the bed.
we still need a headboard. we were *thisclose* from DIYing one with old wooden boards, but decided to hold off at the last minute. we're waiting for something to strike us, i guess. the wooden planks are our backup.
like the wall color? it's benjamin moore newburg green.
the blanket is exactly the perfect weight for summer -- slightly thicker than a sheet -- and it's so so soft! cuddly and bendy and squishable, perfect for bunching up around you while you sleep.
added mini-bonus: the blanket came packaged in a tote, which i think i'll use to hold clothes for the drycleaners. i lost ours in the move last year and haven't yet found a suitable replacement beyond a paper grocery bag.
